    Long Service Awards are presented to general practitioners and medical specialists who have served rural and regional Western Australia for over 20 years.  These awards recognise the extensive commitment to providing health services, often to many generations of the same family and their continued involvement in the community.     Great Southern Health Professional Network invites you to Join Dr  Jonathan Ramachenderan for an education evening on Case studies in Pain Management. Jonathan is a Pain Medicine Fellow completing his specialist training in pain medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital. He was previously a GP anaesthetist and palliative care generalist in Albany, working with the Great Southern Palliative Care Service. Jonathan is keen to provide a specialist pain medicine service to the Great Southern and help establish a multidisciplinary pain education program for regional patients with chronic pain.     The Remote Emer­gency Care (REC) course is designed by remote health clin­i­cians for remote health clin­i­cians. The course is con­tex­tu­alised to the remote and iso­lat­ed prac­tice, with cur­rent evi­dence-based con­tent with­in a cross-cul­tur­al frame­work aligned with Nation­al Stan­dards. By using a blend­ed learn­ing approach, clin­i­cians will devel­op the knowl­edge, skills and con­fi­dence to recog­nise an emer­gency, pro­vide ini­tial sta­bil­i­sa­tion and man­age a range of med­ical and trau­ma presentations.     The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop.
