She Codes in partnership with Albany iHub; Free Coding Workshop for Women
22 May @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Who Codes? She Codes!
She Codes is going on a road trip!
Albany iHub is bringing our one day workshop to the Great Southern! Join us for a fun day of self-paced coding in the friendly and safe environment at Ideation Co in Albany.
During the one day workshop, enjoy access to beginner-level HTML & CSS, Django & Python workshops, as our volunteer mentors support you to learn in a self-paced environment. PLUS we offer lunch, cupcakes and a quick dance break in the afternoon!
And the best part? No prior experience is necessary – just a laptop, a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn.
A bit more about She Codes..
Our goal is to increase the diversity in the tech community, spark collaboration, creativity, and expand networks. We do this through a range of programs, and partnerships with industry, including our one day workshops, one week programs and six month courses. Find out more about us here.
How much does this workshop cost?
Nothing, It’s free! You just need to be excited! We even provide food – maybe there is such a thing as a free lunch.
Who is this aimed at?
Women or non-binary of any age with basic knowledge of working with a computer. We’ve had people of ages 5-80 take part.
Do I need to bring my own computer?
Yes, you do. We don’t have laptops to spare, unfortunately.
Do I need to know anything technical?
No – this is a workshop designed for beginners. These are self-paced tutorials, there will be mentors on hand across the day to help out with any questions you might have.
I know how to program – can I help?
Yippee! We’re also looking for people to be mentors, so if you would like to offer your time and skills, we would love to have you. Please select a mentor ticket, or contact us to get involved.
