DESCRIPTION:ECHO programs offer free interactive online training bringing health professionals and primary care together to share knowledge\, ideas\, and experiences\, fostering a friendly supportive environment. These monthly sessions run for an hour from 11.00am to 12.00pm WA and are open to all health care staff including Nursing\, Allied health\, GP’s\, Community health and Indigenous health workers. \nPalliative Care ECHO is a series of interactive virtual mentoring sessions that addresses a range of palliative care topics. It aims to increase palliative care knowledge\, skills and confidence in health professionals. \nEach 1 hour session consists of: \n\nA 10-minute presentation from a multidisciplinary specialist palliative care team\nA case presentation by a primary care professional\nOpportunities for Q&A and discussion\n\nPalliative Care ECHO Benefits \n\nA virtual network to share palliative care knowledge and experiences\nConnect with multidisciplinary specialist teams\nImprove palliative care knowledge and skills\nIncrease confidence to support someone with a life-limiting illness and their family\nIncrease job satisfaction and promote peer support between health services

DESCRIPTION:The RHW MHST is a purpose designed\, interactive training workshop for General  (GPs) to enhance their skills\, knowledge and approach to people presenting with high prevalence mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems to primary care. The workshop has been designed with input from consumers and carers to embed and incorporate their perspectives\, experiences and needs when presenting to GPs in primary care. \nYou will have the opportunity to learn important practical skills including; \n\nIdentify and manage consumers who present with mental health issues experienced within the context of general practice\nDevelop and review evidence-based General Practice Mental Health Treatment Plans (GPMHTPs) in consultation with consumers and carers within the context of general practice\nIncorporate perspectives and needs of consumers\, their carers and others in a person’s network of support in a GPMHTP to inform subsequent care received within the context of general practice\nUse practice systems to identify local services and resources that safeguard consumer safety and assist in providing holistic mental health care to consumers with the context of general practice\nUse appropriate MBS item numbers relating to the provision of mental health care within the context of general practice\n\nEligibility: GP’s and Medical Practitioners.
